Windscreen fear forces landing

A Ryanair Boeing 737 made an unscheduled landing last night because of fears over a cracked windscreen

A Ryanair Boeing 737 made an unscheduled landing last night because of fears over a cracked windscreen. The aircraft was en route to Dublin from Bournmouth when it diverted to Cardiff airport which was put on standby. The 50 passengers and six crew were unharmed.

A Ryanair spokeswoman said the cause of the cracked windscreen had not been identified. "The crew implemented standard safety procedures in these cases and landed at Cardiff Airport where a replacement windscreen was fitted," she said. The passengers were taken by coach to Bristol airport and flown to Dublin.
