Met Éireann has forecast wet and windy conditions for the remainder of the week. After this morning temperatures will be slightly higher than of late.

Today will be a cold, bright and breezy day with sunny spells and scattered showers. The showers will occur mainly in the north and west.

West to north-west winds will ease gradually later in the day, when showers will be more isolated. Temperatures will range between six and nine degrees.

Tonight will be cold and mainly dry. Conditions will be clear at first, with sharp ground frost in some places.

Milder and cloudy weather will spread eastwards overnight and in the morning, with rain at times and freshening south-west winds.

Tomorrow will be mostly cloudy and conditions will remain dry in many areas.
