Liverpool's Sander Westerveld has requested an urgent meeting with manager Gerard Houllier after losing his position as first-choice goalkeeper at Anfield.
The Dutch international told Sky Sports he was unsure of his future at Liverpool following last week's signing of two goalkeepers, Jerzy Dudek from Feyenoord and Chris Kirkland from Coventry City.
Westerveld was the number one choice during Liverpool's treble cup-winning campaign last season, but Houllier confirmed on Tuesday that Dudek will be his number one.
The Polish international will start against Aston Villa on Saturday.
"I have to remain calm and wait for a conversation with Houllier. I want an explanation and I want to know what is going to happen to me," said the 26-year-old Westerveld, who let in a soft last-minute goal against Bolton Wanderers on August 27th.
"Houllier told me in July that Feyenoord offered Dudek to him but that he did not want him.
"I have spoken to Edwin van der Sar about my situation. He had to leave Juventus in an equal scenario, although mine is much worse than his was.
"According to Houllier, I have revealed locker-room secrets and he says that I talk too much. But I have always been very positive about the club and I have never revealed any secrets."
Westerveld joined Liverpool from Vitesse Arnhem in June 1999 for Stg£4 million.
