Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is giving himself "time to think" before committing to a new deal.

The Frenchman has shunned numerous offers during his 13 years in London.

He has 18 months left on his current deal - but admits making sure the club is "good hands" is his main concern.

Speaking to French TV, Wenger said that if he signed a new long-term deal with Arsenal then that would mean he would end his career at the Emirates.

"I am giving myself a bit of time to think," he said.

"What is important is that the club is in good hands, whether they are mine or someone else's.

"Whether I personally leave on a positive or negative note is a little bit less important."
