THE "A Day in the Life" concert featuring German electronica veterans Kraftwerk, which was scheduled for Luggala estate in Co Wicklow this Saturday, September 13th, has been transferred to Kilmainham, Dublin, due to waterlogging at the estate.

Although weather was good yesterday, the site remained too waterlogged to build the stage, and with further adverse conditions forecast for coming days POD Concerts, which is promoting the concert, said the decision was unavoidable.

John Reynolds of POD said the same concert, to include a two-hour Kraftwerk set, would now take place in a tented structure at the Imma venue in Kilmainham.

"I am personally deeply disappointed that this event cannot take place on the Luggala estate, which is one of the most awe-inspiring and breathtaking locations in Ireland. However, due to the unprecedented rainfall and the nature of the site being a natural valley, the subsequent waterlogging conditions have made it impossible to prepare Luggala for a concert for the general public."

He said the capacity remains an "intimate" 4,999, and described Kilmainham as a "unique and historical city centre venue". US theatre collective Lucent Dossier has been added to the bill.

All tickets remained valid for the changed venue and as the original price included a return bus fare, all customers are to get a €20 refund on presentation of the ticket at the show. Doors will open at 3pm, with the concert finishing at 11.30pm.

Mr Reynolds has promised that another concert will be held at Luggala within the next year.
