Record water levels across the Czech Republic retreated further this morning, but thousands of residents in flood stricken areas remained unable to return home in the country's largest post-war evacuation.
In Prague, water levels as of Saturday morning were down more than four metres from Wednesday's high.
Frustration was growing among the tens of thousands evacuated, with some annoyed at not being allowed home when they could see the waters had receded.
The flooding has killed 12 people across the country and caused massive damage to buildings and infrastructure.
Thousands of rescue crews have been replaced by thousands of clean-up workers and heavy machinery to slog through tonnes of mud and debris strewn throughout the centre of Prague.
Many areas remain without gas and electricity, and officials are urging patience as authorities go building to building to ensure structures are safe before residents can re-occupy them.
Some 70,000 Prague residents were forced from their homes, and more than 130,000 were evacuated in the rest of the country.
