Ireland's representative in the Eurovision Song Contest, Chris Doran, is due to be welcomed home to his native Waterford tomorrow evening.

The singer of Ireland's entry, If My World Stopped Turning, co-composed by former Westlife star Bryan McFadden and songwriter Jonathan Shorten, arrived back in Dublin airport yesterday afternoon.

Looking a little subdued, the martial arts and fitness enthusiast politely signed some autographs with good humour for well-wishers and supporters before leaving the airport.

Last night, the plans were still being finalised for tomorrow's welcome home ceremony - to take place in the city's Walsh Park GAA grounds - with a general invitation to everybody to attend.

Details of the ceremony are due to be confirmed today.
