The Western Health Board gave the all-clear yesterday for the renewed consumption of public water supplies without boiling in Ballyhaunis, Co Mayo.
Tests last week showed the presence of bacteria. In the autumn there had been similar contamination before the all-clear was given.
A spokesman for the health board said yesterday earlier tests had shown the supply was safe and a warning to Ballyhaunis householders and business premises owners to boil all water before use was being lifted.
