Warrant issued for ex-President

Geneva - A Swiss magistrate has issued an international arrest warrant for former Argentinian president, Mr Jorge Videla, in connection with the 1977 kidnapping and murder of Alexis Jaccard, a Swiss-Chilean student, in Buenos Aires. Mr Videla has been detained since June on the order of an Argentinian judge investigating the theft of babies born to left-wing detainees during the so-called "dirty war" waged by the country's military dictatorship of 1976-83.
