The National Consumer Association has renewed its alert about faulty immersion cylinders sold in Ireland.

It is trying to trace 500 GeminoX Ebs cylinders, which it warns are at risk of overheating and possibly causing a fire.

They were mainly sold in the Cork and Kerry region.

Households who may have purchased the cylinders are being advised to stop using them immediately. They should then contact the company's helpline on 1850 427 947 to arrange for a safety inspection and refit.
