Current smoking trends in Ireland show an alarming increase in the number of young people taking up the habit, the chairman of the anti smoking group, ASH, Dr Luke Clancy, gas said. "Measures must be in place to ensure that young people are strongly discouraged from ever starting to smoke".
Dr Clancy was reacting to figures which show a 13 per cent rise in spending on smoking.
