Politics:Wexford Independent TD Mick Wallace has resigned from the technical group of TDs.
Last week there had been confusion over his status after Mr Wallace had said he would “step back” from membership of the group. However, group chair Finian McGrath announced last night that Mr Wallace had resigned fully.
The technical group comprises a number of Socialist and Independent TDs who band together to secure speaking time in the Dáil.
Mr Wallace’s construction firm, MJ Wallace Ltd, has made a €2.1 million settlement with the Revenue Commissioners arising from its failure to make full tax returns on apartment sales.
Mr Wallace has said he will not resign his seat.
