FINE Gael has already indicated who will represent the party in the post-election negotiations on the formation of a new government. Minister Richard Bruton, who was there last time when the coalition arrangements were worked out, will be joined by Minister Enda Kenny who replaces Michael Lowry. Cabinet heavyweights like Michael Noonan and Ivan Yates don't feature but then they would be leadership contenders if it all comes tumbling down.
It could be said "there's confidence for you" not about the personalities but about the certainty of it all. First, Fine Gael has to secure enough seats to merit a place at the negotiating table and second, Enda will have to hold his.
