Patrick Vieira and Sol Campbell passed late fitness tests to start for Arsenal in their FA Cup quarter-final replay at Chelsea, but Thierry Henry was still left on the bench alongside Dennis Bergkamp.
Boss Arsene Wenger started with Francis Jeffers up front with Sylvain Wiltord instead, with Henry and Bergkamp having played against Everton just over 48 hours earlier.
With Gilberto Silva also rested, while Martin Keown, David Seaman and Ashley Cole were still out injured, Vieira was in midfield along with Edu, Ray Parlour and Robert Pires.
Chelsea, meanwhile, restored Emmanuel Petit to their line-up after injury, but Marcel Desailly was still on the bench as he came back from a hip problem that has affected him over the past month.
Having fielded three strikers in the past two games, boss Claudio Ranieri adopted a rather more cautious approach this time around, with Eidur Gudjohnsen dropping to the bench as Gianfranco Zola partnered Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
