The British Embassy in Iraq says has received a new video of one of five British hostages kidnapped nearly two years ago in Baghdad.

Embassy spokesman Sean McColm says the video "is clearly a significant development and we'll continue to work for the safe release of all the hostages."

The Britons were kidnapped by heavily armed men in police uniforms in May 2007 from the Iraqi Finance Ministry. A Shiite extremist group has claimed responsibility for the abductions.

The BBC is reporting that the hostage in the videotape is Peter Moore and that he says the five are being treated well. He also appeared on a videotape in February.
