The new Garda policy of making investigations into crime more victim-friendly has been welcomed by Senator Denis O'Donovan, the Fianna Fail Seanad spokesman on Justice. The new crime victim policy, which will be introduced on January 1st, will involve gardai, the area superintendent and an automatic referral to the Victim Support organisation for victims of certain categories of crime.
