Gardaí in Kinnegad are investigating a series of incidents in the past week in which objects were thrown from flyovers along the new M4 motorway onto cars.

At least seven cars have been damaged in the past few days by attackers throwing stones, concrete blocks, steel bars and other debris onto passing vehicles.

Gardaí said the items were thrown off three different flyovers across the newly opened motorway. All the incidents took place late at night.

There have been no injuries reported.

Local Fianna Fail TD has called for security cameras to be installed on the flyovers.
