A US technology company is establishing its European centre of operations in Belfast, generating at least 40 highly skilled jobs, it was announced today.
Swan Labs said its Northern Ireland subsidiary would focus on the design, development and implementation of solutions aimed at making business applications, including email, Oracle and Siebel work more efficiently.
Invest NI is supporting the £1.8 million investment with aid of almost £500,000 - nearly half of it a product development grant.
"The Swan Labs investment highlights the growing level of international confidence in the local economy and its high-growth ICT sector," said Leslie Morrison, chief executive of Invest NI.
He added: "Northern Ireland is fast becoming a premier location for international businesses such as Swan Labs, which are seeking a highly skilled workforce, a first class support infrastructure and easy access to international markets."
He expressed confidence the Belfast facility would enable the successful entry of Swan into key European, Middle East and African markets
Kevin Donaghy, chief executive of Swan in Belfast, said: "The high calibre of software engineers in Northern Ireland will allow us to rapidly develop key software products that will enable customers to shape their applications and optimise network performance."
