US basketball player Jason Rubright, who assisted Ballina in the club's Sprite National Cup win this year, was received into the Catholic Church in Ballina at the weekend. He was baptised on Saturday night and was confirmed yesterday by the Bishop of Killala, Dr Thomas Finnegan. His father Bill, a Lutheran and his mother Odette, a Presbyterian, travelled from Washington state for the special ceremonies for their only child.
