Under-fire goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek has earned a dramatic reprieve and starts in goal for Liverpool in their Worthington Cup clash against Ipswich at Anfield tonight.
Despite originally stating that Chris Kirkland would take Dudek's place, manager Gerard Houllier has decided to give his Polish stopper the chance to start rebuilding the confidence seriously dented by Sunday's error against Manchester United.
Liverpool's official website claims Kirkland will still be taking over as the club's new number one goalkeeper at Charlton on Saturday, but Dudek will play in tonight's fourth round clash against the Division One side.
