Bodies may still be buried under the rubble of the United Nations headquarters in Baghdad according to a United Nations spokesperson.

"We know that at least 17 people were killed, at least, andwe are afraid that more are buried under the rubble," Salim Lonetold reporters.

The top UN envoy to Iraq, Sergio Vieira de Mello, wasamong those killed in yesterday's suspected suicide bombing, themost devastating attack on a United Nations civilian complex inthe world body's 58-year-old history.

More than 100 people were wounded in the attack, which camea day after Iraq's US governor, Paul Bremer - acounter-terrorism expert - said fighters from Osama bin Laden'sal Qaeda network were operating in the country.
