Ukraine's parliament has postponed for one day a debate on appointing a new government headed by President Viktor Yushchenko's choice for prime minister.
The deferral came at the request of Mr Yushchenko.
"We have resolved all questions on today's agenda apart from the first and most important issue," deputy speaker Mr Adam Martynyuk told deputies. "But the president of Ukraine is not ready to decide on this at the moment."
Mr Yushchenko, who has chosen radical Ms Yulia Tymoshenko as prime minister, has been locked in a week of talks with allied groups on the make-up of the government.
