UK house prices increase 10% in January

British house price inflation slowed to an annual rate of 10 per cent in January from 10

British house price inflation slowed to an annual rate of 10 per cent in January from 10.7 per cent in the month before, the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM) said today.

The ODPM said the mix-adjusted average house price in January stood £178,796, little changed from the previous month.

The annual rate of house price inflation in London picked up to 5 per cent from 3 per cent in December.
