A 34-year-old man was recovering in hospital last night after being shot in the leg in north Belfast early yesterday in what appeared to have been a paramilitary-style punishment attack.

Meanwhile, a man in his 40s suffered bullet wounds to his ankle, thigh and calf during an attack by a gang of youths in the Mountpottinger area of east Belfast.
