Two separate opinion polls in Sunday newspapers revealed that Fine Gael is growing while the Government parties are losing support.

The polls in the Sunday Tribuneand Sunday Business Postindicate that if a general election was held next week, Fine Gael would be likely to lead the next government.

The Sunday Tribune poll shows Fianna Fail's popularity is down by 4 per cent at 37 per cent with Fine Gael gaining by 5 per cent to 24 per cent.

In the Sunday Tribune/Millward Brown IMS poll the Labour Party has also gained one percentage point giving the proposed alternative government parties near parity with Fianna Fail.

Support for the Greens, at 5 per cent and Progressive Democrats, on 4 per cent, remains unchanged.

Sinn Fein saw its share of the vote rise1 per cent to 9 per cent. Support for Independent TDs dropped by 2 per cent to 10 per cent.
