A man (33) who died early yesterday after being struck by a car at Cartown, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim, has been named as Mr Seán Brehony. He was from Castlebaldwin, Boyle, Co Roscommon.

A motorcyclist (32) was killed when his vehicle went out of control and crashed into a wall on Old Fancourt Road in Balbriggan in north Co Dublin on Saturday.

He was named as Mr Brendan Downes from Francourt Road.
