Two young men were killed when the stolen car they were in crashed in Belfast early today.

The car smashed into another vehicle on the Lisburn Road in the south of the city at around 4.30am.

Police said the driver of the other car was taken to hospital suffering from injuries which he was expected to recover from.

The incident happened on the flyover close to the King’s Hall - forcing its closure for several hours - and police appealed for anyone who was in the area at the time to contact them.

A spokeswoman said the car the two who died were in had been reported stolen.
