Two men have been hurt in separate overnight attacks in Northern Ireland.

A man (24)  has been wounded in a paramilitary style shooting in Derry. He was at home at Leckey Road when a group of men arrived and took him into the back garden, where they shot him twice in the legs.

In  Lisburn, a man (21) is in  a critical condition in hospital with after suffering head injuries following a serious assault in the town overnight.

According to the PSNI, the victim was attacked at Hancock Street by three masked men wielding baseball bats.
