The 21-year-old was shot in the head at point blank range in an apparent gangland attack on the banks of the Grand Canal at the back of the Jamestown industrial estate in February, 2008.

Guerrine, of La Touche Rd, Bluebell, Dublin 12, had a number of convictions for road traffic offences and public order incidents but the motive for his murder was unclear.

He was facing charges relating to an incident in the midlands when he was caught driving a stolen car and was facing charges of careless driving and drink-driving in relation to the same incident.
