Two people were killed and another was seriously injured when the car they were traveling in crashed in co Offaly early this morning.
The crash took place at around 4.40am at Doon Cross, Ballinahown. There were no other cars involved.
A man and a woman, both in their 20s, were killed. A second man was taken taken to Tullamore General Hospital.
Postmortem examinations are to be held on the bodies at Tullamore General Hospital later today.
A Garda spokesman said the road will remain closed for several hours.
