Two people were shot and killed and a third wounded on an Arkansas university campus last night, according to university and hospital officials.
The shooting occurred at about 9.30pm local time outside a dormitory at the University of Central Arkansas at Conway, about 30 miles (48 km) west of Little Rock, the state capital.
One of the wounded died at the scene, and a second died in hospital, a medical official said.
University officials said there were four suspects in the shooting and one was in custody. It is unclear if the suspects or victims were university students.
The campus was placed on lockdown shortly after the shootings were reported, and Monday's classes were cancelled.
