A man in his 60s was killed when a house near Rosses Point caught fire late last night.

Gardaí are examining the two-storey house to establish the cause. They said the identity of the man would be released until his relatives had been contacted.

PSNI officers in Co Antrim are investigating a fatal house fire in which a woman in her 30s died.

Firefighters were called to a first-floor flat at Fairmount Drive in Belfast early this morning.

The victim was later found in a bedroom and pronounced dead at the scene. An examination of the flat is due later today.
