A man and woman were killed today when their car crashed into a parked lorry outside Newry.
The incident happened on the A1 between Newry and Loughbrickland at lunchtime. The lorry, which was unoccupied, was parked on hard shoulder when the car hit it at about 1.30pm.
The man had been driving the car, with the woman in the passenger seat.
Police appealed for witnesses. Traffic diversions were in place and motorists were urged to avoid the area.
