Two men were injured in a shooting at Amsterdam's Schiphol airport today, but there was no link with the recent attacks on the United States, officials said.

The shooting happened outside Terminal 3 departures - used mainly for transatlantic flights - at about 10.30 a.m. police said.

"We think it was a personal feud. It had nothing to do with terrorism," Mr Rob Stenacker, spokesman for military police, told Reuters at the scene.

Mr Stenacker said the two men involved in the shootout were wounded and taken to hospital. An witness was taken ill after the event.
