A teenager was today arrested and charged by police investigating rioting in north Belfast.

A teenager was today arrested and charged by police investigating rioting in north Belfast.

The 16-year-old was questioned about violence in Ardoyne on July 12th, the first of three nights of violence. He was later charged with riotous assembly, the PSNI said.

Yesterday, two men were charged over the trouble. A 25-year-old was charged with riotous assembly and throwing petrol bombs and a 44-year-old with riotous assembly.

Police also charged a 41-year-old man today with riotous assembly at Ardoyne on July 12th.

He was detained in the Lurgan, Co Armagh, area today and will appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court on September 21st.
