Gardaí are continuing to question two men arrested in connection with the investigation of the murder of a father of two in Limerick.

Detectives obtained an extension to allow them further question the men arrested in connection with the killing of Daniel Treacy (35).

The men - aged 29 and 51 - are being held under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act.

A 28-year-old man questioned over the killing was released without charge on Tuesday evening and a file is due to be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
