Two men were arrested by the RUC after an oil tanker was chased along several miles of narrow country roads in Co Armagh yesterday. The men, aged 29 and 31, were taken to Armagh RUC station for questioning. Police officers fired a number of warning shots during the incident.
The tanker crashed and overturned near Middletown. The fire service was called to deal with a diesel spillage. RUC and customs officers had been on the alert in south Armagh for diesel smugglers.
