Two former PD mayors of Limerick have confirmed that they have resigned from the party and one of them, Mr Dick Sadlier (48), an accountant, has joined Fianna Fail. He left Fianna Fail and followed Des O'Malley on the founding of the PDs. He was elected to the City Council in 1991.

Mr Kieran O'Hanlon, the other former mayor, said he had not decided on his future party allegiance.
