Two for Belfast court over attempted murder

Two men are due to appear before Laganside Magistrates Court in Belfast later today charged with attempted murder.

Two men are due to appear before Laganside Magistrates Court in Belfast later today charged with attempted murder.

The two, aged 24 and 25, face the charges in relation to an attack on a man in the Carrigart Avenue area of the city early on Sunday morning.

The attack happened shortly after 3:30am when a man (22) was stabbed and struck over the head with a hammer.

The victim was treated in hospital for serious injuries to his head and chest.
