An Italian and an African, who are accused of setting up an international call selling fraud, appeared in Dublin District Court yesterday.

Det Sgt Michael Clifford said they were involved in the cloning of 60 Irish mobile phones causing a loss of £28,000.

Mr Enrico Bartolmucci (50) and Mr Zemhret Zeru (34), both with an address at Bachelors Walk, Dublin, are charged with causing Telecom to suffer losses of fees and rental.

Judge Gerard Haughton refused jurisdiction and remanded them in custody to March 11th for a book of evidence.
