The PSNI have appealed for information in what they believe to have been a hit-and-run incident in Ballymena after a  man's body was discovered at 4am near a bar on the Crankhill dual carriageway .

In a separate incident in Downpatrick, a man was killed when his car hit a wall on the Ballynoe Road around 1am.

Meanwhile a 30-year-old motorcyclist was taken to hospital suffering from a serious head injury after a road collision outside Lurgan.

It is believed the man came off his red Honda and struck a traffic island on the Belfast road at 6.30am.

Police said he was travelling from Lurgan to Moira and have appealed for witnesses.
