Two men were last night charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 29-year-old man in Cork city early yesterday morning.

Keith O'Donovan (27) of 2 Spriggs Road, Gurranabraher, Cork, was charged with the manslaughter of Noel McCarthy at Spriggs Road, Gurranabraher, on May 4th. A second man, James Hourigan, of 12 Harbour View Road, Knocknaheeny, Cork, was charged with assault causing harm to Noel McCarthy at the same place on that date.

Judge Uinsinn MacGruairc remanded Mr O'Donovan in custody and remanded Mr Hourigan in custody with consent to bail, both to appear at Cork District Court today.
