Two men arrested on Saturday morning in Dundalk in relation to the Omagh bombing were still being held in Monaghan Garda station yesterday, writes Jim Cusack, Security Editor.

A total of six men were arrested in the Border area over the past week and four have been released without charge. Meanwhile, gardai are still looking for a 24-year-old Clondalkin man who escaped from prison guards as he was being taken to Castlerea Prison, Co Roscommon, on Friday. The man, who was wearing handcuffs, overpowered two prison guards and hijacked a taxi. The car was later found in Clondalkin.
