Ankara - Turkish jail inmates released dozens of hostages early yesterday to end a five-day siege in protest over 10 of their comrades killed in a prison shootout with gendarmerie troops. Anatolian news agency said some 40 hostages held in jails across Turkey had been set free and protests at remaining prisons were expected to end soon.
