Turkey said this morning it would contribute 90 special force troops to assist the US-led military campaign in Afghanistan.
Turkey is NATO's only Muslim member state.
"Our government has decided to task a special forces unit of around 90 members for the mission (for Afghanistan)," the government said in a written statement issued after a cabinet meeting.
