Troops kill civilians, claim

Alkhan-Kala - Russian troops killed 10 civilians during a search operation near the Chechen capital of Grozny, witnesses said yesterday.

The Interfax news agency said a Chechen rebel chief, Arbi Barayev, may have been killed during the operation.
