RACING:Trafford Lad embarks on his new career over fences in the Grade Three Buck House Novice Chase at Punchestown tomorrow.

A Grade One winner over hurdles last season, Dusty Sheehy's charge was placed on his next three starts, including at the Cheltenham and Punchestown Festivals.

Sheehy has always felt the six-year-old would come into his own over the larger obstacles and he is very hopeful he can make a winning return to action.

"The horse is in great form and I couldn't be any happier with him," said Sheehy.

"He has done plenty of schooling and, touch wood, he jumps well so we're looking forward to it.

"He would probably prefer the ground a little bit better but I always say good horses go on any ground so I don't think it will inconvenience him too much.

"He will come on for the run but he is plenty fit enough to do himself justice - he is forward enough to win.

"He has the right man on his back in Ruby Walsh so all we need now is a bit of luck."

Trafford Lad faces just four rivals including recent Roscommon victor Kalderon.
