Motorists using Dublin's Westlink toll bridge face restrictions from this evening onwards, as work intensifies on a second bridge across the Liffey valley.
The operation, which is designed to connect Westlink 2 to the M50 and prepare the existing Westlink for the changeover, will involve lane closures between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. from Monday to Saturday.
The work is scheduled to continue throughout the summer until September.
As well as the temporary lane closures, traffic management will include diversions, speed restrictions, temporary road markings and temporary surfaces.
All traffic will be diverted from Westlink 1 to Westlink 2 for a period of four to six weeks in early June, allowing for the preparation of the existing Westlink 1 for the changeover.
