Cork 1-11 Tipperary 2-11
Tipperary defeated Cork on a scoreline of 2-11 to 1-11 to win the All-Ireland senior camogie championship at Croke Park this afternoon.
The Premier county avenged their defeat at the hands of the Leesiders twelve months ago, and have now won the championship in four out of the last five years.
Cork had led the game up to the break, with the half-time score of 0-7 to 1-3 narrowly favouring the Reds. After the restart, Tipperary's superior scoring power came to the fore however, and a Deirdre Hughes fired the Munster side off with a well-taken goal.
Scores from Noelle Kennedy and Joanne Ryan served to stretch their lead, although a late Cork revival, which included a goal from from half-back Gemma O'Connor, did threaten to upset things.
Ultimately though, the cooler heads of Tipperary prevailed, a single goal difference was enough to ensure the title, after a year-long hiatus, returned to Tipp.
