The "Path to Peace" section of The Irish Times on the Web is one of three finalists for the "Best Special Section" prestigious Eppy awards run by the US Editor and Publisher magazine. The section is devoted to the peace process in Northern Ireland, provides a historical background to the situation and is updated with daily news reports.
The other finalists are the Washington Post for "Fog of War", a special section analysing the true results of Operation Desert Storm and the San Jose Mercury News for its section on the Microsoft anti-trust trial. The Eppy awards, the US Internet equivalent of the Oscar, Tony and Emmy awards, will be presented at a banquet in Atlanta, Georgia, on February 19th.
